Gospel Star Levixone Wins Top Regional Award, Dedicates It To Colleagues

Uganda’s gospel music continues to grow by leaps and bounds with recognition of artists at top award galas and hist music defining the moment.

Sensational artist, Lucas Levixone has been awarded the Best AFRO POP ARTIST OF EXCELLENCE in the just concluded Maranatha Global Worship Music Awards 2019.

The awards were held in the Kenyan capital Nairobi on Sunday

Levixone, known for his hit, Turn the replay, and who has since made gospel music a great competitor with secular took to his social media pages to express his joy saying it was testament that gospel music in Uganda is taking its rightful place.

“From the beginning, our vision as Levixone music was to see that gospel music is recognized and that the gospel is spread and we are humbled to see this happening,” he said before adding, “We want to express our sincere appreciation and thanks to the Global Awards organisation for recognizing us with the award of Best AFRO POP ARTIST OF EXCELLENCE.”

Now in their fourth year, the MGWMAs are designed to acknowledge authentic biblical worship music and to honour exceptional individuals from around the globe.

Levixone dedicated his award to Uganda’s gospel artists, sating they deserve to share the award with him because they do not ‘labor in vain.’

“In a larger sense, however, this award is more appropriately deserved by the gospel fraternity here in Uganda. Gospel music has come a long way in making an impact in this country. This award goes to show that we indeed do not labor in vain.

To all my partners in the industry, this award is a win to all of us, this global recognition just goes to show that we are on the right track in our mission of spreading the gospel and the love of Christ.

And to all the gospel music fans, we are deeply grateful and appreciative of the support that you show us. We honor you guys a lot… Thank you, thank you thank you!!!” he wrote.

At the colorful event, Levixone also performed some of hits and was joined by Kenya’s Guardian Angel.
