A host of gospel artists have been lined up for this year’s much anticipated VIGA Awards set to be held at Kampala Serena Hotel on 31st May.
According to the organisers, those who have been confirmed to electrify attendees on the day with holy tunes and jams include; Lucas Levixone, legendary Betty Namaganda, Za buli, terrific worshiper Brian Lubega, Father Musaala and saxophonist Joseph Sax.
They will be joined by Kenya’s Evelyn Wanjiru who together with Levixone won awards at the recently held Maranatha gongs in Nairobi.
The VIGA Music Awards have since 2007 annually recognized and rewarded contemporary Christian/gospel music peers for their outstanding accomplishments. The VIGA season runs from January to December in a particular year.
Minister in charge of the Youth & Children Affairs, Nakiwala Kiyinji has confirmed her attendance for the awards ceremony that will be celebrating ten years.
“By God’s grace Uganda see you soon I will be singing live at viag music awards,” Wanjiru confirmed on her twitter handle.
Joseph Sax is is the lead saxophone player in Janzi Band a saxophonist at Prophet Elvis Mbonye Ministries.
The VIGA Music Awards annually constitutes a special nomination panel comprising of representation from the Federation of Gospel Artists of Uganda, stakeholders from the media & music business fraternities and respected institutions like Universities and Music Academies.
This panel receives, evaluates and censors the music and video’ entry submissions as explained below. The final nominees are announced at the Nominations Bash and then subjected to public voting.
Voting ends on the 27th May.
