A video has emerged on social media sites showing Phaneroo Ministries International leader, Apostle Grace Lubega preaching the word of God on the streets of Uganda’s capital, Kampala.
Street preaching by Phaneroo members is one of the activities lined up in the run up to Saturday’s 5th anniversary celebrations that will be held at Kololo Independence Grounds in Kampala.
Lubega’s decision to join members in street preaching, which many see as act of humility, challenges a long held belief that the practice is restricted to a few people in Pentecostal churches.
Street preaching has been associated with people believed to be chosen specifically for that role, who rarely receive mentions in church for their callings. In addition, leaders of Pentecostal churches have not been spotted doing it.
However, Phaneroo members appear to have challenged the notion with many spending the whole week preaching and drawing people’s attention to the fact that we all need to have vibrant relationships with God.
In the shot clip, Lubega, speaking on a megaphone, is heard telling bystanders and those listening to him at what appears to be a market, that they are not doing the preaching because they dont have what to do but that its important that they ‘lay down their lives’ to spread the word of God.
