Apostle Grace Lubega
James 4:3 (KJV); Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
WHEN WE PRAY
Our Heavenly Father is a God who answers prayer.
He said in 1 John 5:14-15, “And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.”
If He is a God who hears us and answers us when we pray, why then do some prayers go unanswered?
Our theme scripture gives us one such reason. People ask and do not receive from God because they ask out of lust.
When a man asks out of lust, his desire ends with him. Additionally, prayer resulting from lust is tainted by selfishness; it uses God as the means to an end.
When your prayers go unanswered, do some soul searching and ask the ultimate question, ‘am I lusting or asking out of a pure heart?’
The answer to this question will help you pray the right way.
Hallelujah!

GOLDEN NUGGET: Prayer resulting from lust is tainted by selfishness; it uses God as the means to an end. When your prayers go unanswered, do some soul searching and ask the ultimate question, ‘am I lusting or asking out of a pure heart?’
PRAYER: Loving Father, I thank You for this truth. Thank You for imparting greater and deeper wisdom in my life of prayer. Thank You for searching my heart and dealing with any lust. I pray with godly hunger and with divine purpose, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
