Kampala Archbishop Paul Ssemogerere has called on the government to address issues of abductions and corruption.
He made the remarks while delivering his Christmas sermon on Sunday at St Mary’s Cathedral Rubaga.
“Take them to court for judgement, let the crime they committed be known or let them be released if not guilty,” the Archbishop said.
He was celebrating his first Christmas mass since his elevation to the post of Archbishop of Kampala.
The cleric asked Christians to put Christ back at the centre of Christmas. He says Christmas is about peace, joy, happiness and holiness and not excessive celebration.
“You cannot celebrate Christmas and say ‘i was able to celebrate Christmas, overdrunk, left at the beach, did not go to church and indulged myself excessively in lust,” Archbishop Ssemogerere said.
The Katikkiro of Buganda, Owek. Charles Peter Mayiga is among the dignitaries that attended the mass. Former Katikkiro of Buganda, Joseph Mulwanyamuli Semogerere and Buganda Kingdom Prince, David Wasajja also attended.
