Uganda’s State Minister for Ethics and Integrity, Rose Akello, has revealed that police have launched a probe into people sharing immoral videos.

The minister made the revelation while addressing the media on saying the move is intended to restore sanity in society.

Minister Akello also condemned the increasing display of immoral acts and sharing of related images on various social media platforms. She says those who engage in such activities are eroding the values of the nation.

She also revealed that government continues to bank on the support of religious leaders in the fight against immorality.

“Religious and Faith leaders are recognized as pivotal advocates in the fight against this escalating concern of moral decadence. The government will continue to engage them and tap into their support,” Akello said.

She added, “Government remains committed to working with all stakeholders as mentioned above, to restore the dignity and glory of this nation using all available means and platforms.”
