Fallen Mbarara Diocese Archbishop Emeritus Paul Bakyenga was laid to rest on Sunday inside Nyamitanga Church in Mbarara City.
Vice President Jessica Alupo represented President Yoweri Museveni at the burial of the archbishop who breathed his last on Tuesday at Nsambya Hospital in Kampala.
In a short tweet on Sunday, Alupo described Bakyenga as a man who initiated many development projects.
“On behalf of President Museveni, I joined thousands of faithful as we paid respects to Archbishop Paul Bakyenga who was laid to rest today. He taught, preached and pursued the life of Christ, initiating many development projects, changing communities. May God rest his Soul in Peace,” Alupo tweeted.
President Museveni granted the Archbishop a state burial for his contribution to the Ugandan society.

Hundreds of Christians including the Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa and a host of ministers and lawmakers, thronged the church to pay their final respects to the man who has touched many lives.
The mass is led by the Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Mbarara His Grace Lambert Bainomugisha.
