Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni has granted an official burial in honor of fallen Emeritus Archbishop of Mbarara, His Grace Paul Bakyenga.

This was revealed by Premier Robinah Nabbanja in a statement issued on Thursday saying the president did it in honor of the Archbishop’s contribution to Uganda.

“He significantly contributed to the development of the church and our country. Archbishop Bakyenga left a strong legacy and will be fondly remembered,” Nabbanja’s statement adds.

Bakyenga breathed his last on Tuesday at Nsambya Hospital in Uganda’s capital, Kampala. He will be laid to rest on Sunday, inside Nyamitanga Church, Mbarara District.
