Uganda’s Chief of Defense Forces (CDF), General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, was honored on his 50th birthday, celebrated by the nation’s First Family at a private dinner in Entebbe. Among those honoring his big was his father, President Yoweri Museveni, who shared touching sentiments about their familial bond and General Kainerugaba’s service to the nation.
Speaking at the event, Uganda’s First Lady, Maama Janet Museveni, commended General Kainerugaba as a devoted husband, father, and guardian of Uganda’s security.
“At 50 years of age, a husband of a beautiful wife, a father of four wonderful grown children, and a CDF of our Nation, I believe that blessings and a sense of direction still originate from his relationship with the Lord,” she remarked, emphasizing the significance of faith in his life and leadership.
President Museveni, reflecting on the occasion, expressed gratitude for the shared journey with Maama Janet and the joy brought by their family.
“I am grateful to God for reuniting me with Maama Janet, whom I accidentally met at the Intercontinental Hotel and married in August 1973,” he reminisced. The President highlighted the foundation of their life together, rooted in principles of wealth creation, family values, education, and faith.
As both a father and the nation’s leader, President Museveni extended appreciation to General Kainerugaba for his dedication and patriotism in the armed forces. “I also want to thank General Muhoozi for his passion and patriotism in the army,” he affirmed, acknowledging the General’s commitment to Uganda’s security and progress.
General Kainerugaba’s birthday celebration held special significance as he is not only a distinguished military leader but also one who professes faith in God. The event provided an opportunity for the First Family to celebrate General Kainerugaba’s accomplishments and the enduring bond between father and son.
