President Yoweri Museveni wants pastors to emulate Jesus Christ as they spread the word of God.
Museveni made the remarks at a gospel crusade organised by Covenant Nations Church in Bunyoro subregion.
He was accompanied to the crusade by First Lady Janet Museveni.
“I also encourage pastors to emulate Jesus Christ by following the four dimensions of; preaching the gospel, healing the sick, feeding people & hard work and include it in their pastoral duties,” Museveni said.
He added, “All these dimensions sum up to one thing, lead by example. Even Jesus himself worked in the work shop of his foster father Joseph. To Christians and non- Christians the message is let your light so shine before men so that they see your good deeds and your father in heaven.”
The crusade dubbed ‘Light up Bunyoro for Jesus’ has been going on for the past four days and has been organised by CNC lead pastor Patience Rwabwogo.
Pastor Patience said, “Bunyoro has a special part to play in the destiny and future of our nation and that it is only in dealing with these spiritual foundations that we will be able to move forward into true liberty and progress.”
