In the past few days, some MTN Uganda Mobile Money accounts received deposits from global money transfer WorldRemit.

Sources at the tech giant say it decided to block numbers that received the money in error after WR made reversal requests to mtn.

It is not yet clear why WR made the deposits although there were fears that mtn had been hacked.

MTN Uganda is yet to speak on the issue as it has chosen to handle it internally.
