President Yoweri Museveni has revealed that he rejected calls by a group of religious leaders to ban Born Again Christian (Pentecostals).

Museveni made the revelation on Saturday while attending the ‘Light up Acholi-land for Jesus’ crusade organised by Pastor Patience Rwabwogo under the Covenant Nations Church.

“When we came to power, a group of religious leaders came & asked me to ban the Born-Agains/ Balokole, that they were liars and pretending to perform miracles. I said let them be, If they tell lies, God will deal with them. I am glad God guided me not to involve myself in that area,” President Museveni said.

He however, did not mention the religious groups who asked him to issue a ban on balokole whose growth over the years has kept traditional denominations on edge.
